Ellanse

Ellansé is made of a medical polymer called polycaprolactone (PCL), which has been used safely in medical implants for many years. It also contains microspheres of PCL suspended in a natural gel carrier called CMC. This unique combination allows for an immediate correction of lost volume, followed by gradual and long-lasting collagen production.

Ellansé is a safe and effective treatment. Unlike other traditional hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, there have been no reported cases of long-lasting lumps or granulomas with Ellansé.

Before undergoing this treatment, a consultation is necessary to determine if Ellansé is suitable for your desired results. It is important to note that Ellansé fillers cannot be dissolved and are much longer lasting than hyaluronic acid-based fillers.

To reduce discomfort during the procedure, Ellansé is mixed with a local anaesthetic called lidocaine 2%. Along with a topical anaesthetic cream, the procedure is typically pain-free and well-tolerated.

Ellansé is not suitable for individuals who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

While rare, possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site. These reactions are usually mild and resolve on their own within a few days.

In most cases, only one treatment is needed for volume correction, with full correction usually achieved within three months through the stimulation of natural collagen. Further treatment may be considered at this stage if necessary.
